No experience necessary!

Laurel Canyon artist Marieke Boorman, and musician Sarah Silverman join forces to bring you a workshop aimed at cultivating creativity in our daily lives.

We will spend time drawing and singing together - It may seem daunting to draw if you don't practice drawing or to sing if you are not a singer, but we believe that engaging in these acts is an intrinsic and healing part of being human.

The drawing process is one of observation - not your drawing skill level. You will observe nature and express what you see while moving your pen across the paper.  The idea is to use our visual sense while letting go of the judgemental mindset, instead embracing the concept of Wabi Sabi - that we are all perfect in our imperfection.

In the music portion of this workshop we will sit in a circle and observe our breath while singing unison sounds as a group. This is a Vocal Meditation practice where there are no right or wrong sounds, or good or bad voices. The purpose is simply to sit together, breathe, and explore the physical sensations of making sounds.

Both of these simple and easy practices are designed to release expectations and judgements, and refocus on the freedom, joy, and playfulness that is found during the process of being creative.

Muffins, tea, and art supplies provided.
